>Overview

The transitional (post-professional, clinical) doctorate programs at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions are designed to bridge the gap between entry-level bachelor's and master's degrees with the newly emerging clinical doctorates (DNP, DPT, and OTD).  These programs additionally support guidance provided by professional associations (DPT, DNP) regarding degree standards.  Not only will these programs enhance clinical and problem-solving skills, but will also provide an evidence-based foundation for clinicians to justify their clinical approaches.  Graduates of these programs will have the tools to become leaders in their profession.

The transitional doctorate programs are designed for practitioners who are unable to leave their practices for traditional education models, but who also do not wish to enroll in online programs.  Students need only be on-site at our beautiful Provo, Utah campus for a total of two weeks over an approximate one-year period (one week during each of two semesters) for the DPT and OTD programs and three weeks over an approximate one-year period (one week during each of three semesters) for the DNP program.  Students gain tremendously by intense interactions with professional colleagues (students and faculty) from around the nation.  Following the on-site sessions, all coursework is completed from the student's home community.

The DPT and OTD programs also offer special electives for pediatric therapists and certified hand therapists!

Additionally, Hardin Simmons University (HSU), in consultation with Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, will be offering the tDPT program on HSU campus in Abilene, Texas.  For more information about this program, contact Dr. Martha Hinman, PT, EdD, at 325-670-5860 or mhinman@hsutx.edu.
